Seeing the call had ended, Violet Zimmerman hurried to grab Joseph Lancaster’s hand, "Joseph, what happened?"Lowering his eyes to look at this woman who had suffered a lot for him, Joseph Lancaster lifted his hand to rub her brow, smoothing the wrinkles in between. The serious expression on his face vanished, and he spoke in a gentle tone.

"It’s nothing, just a small issue with a company project that Robert and I were discussing."

"Joseph..." Violet clearly didn’t believe him. Her son would handle project matters himself and wouldn’t call to ask them.

"Don’t worry." Joseph Lancaster patted Violet’s shoulder again, "Didn’t I just say? Our two sons have grown up, and they’re more than capable of shielding you from all harm. Let’s just consider this an opportunity for them to demonstrate themselves, okay?"

Looking into Joseph Lancaster’s phoenix eyes, Violet Zimmerman felt inexplicably reassured, but still—

"Nothing happened at all, we just need to enjoy our vacation properly."

"Who said I’m not getting involved? If I didn’t want to, I’d have gone off to meet up with Little Star already."

Afraid to speak up against his father’s reprimand, but with Maximilian, his elder brother, Callum Lancaster wasn’t as polite.

"You, all you do every day is chase women. If you had even half your elder brother’s ability, I wouldn’t be dissatisfied at all!" Daemon Lancaster said, rueful and disappointed.

Callum Lancaster became even more displeased, "Hmph! I knew it, you look down on me because I was born from a stepmother, while Big Brother is the real son of the Lancaster Family!"
