Marvel's Shendu: Dominating the Multiverse

Chapter 42 Just a Title

Chapter 42 Just a Title

The Holy Lord paid no attention to the agents' discussions and went straight to Fury's office.

The moment the door opened, he saw Fury standing in front of a special wall covered with photos and names, including high-ranking military officials, political figures, and potential destabilizing elements within S.H.I.E.L.D., and even several Avengers.

Fury's gaze remained fixed on the wall, without turning around: "You're here. Any new developments from Tony's side?"

The Holy Lord replied, "It went very smoothly. It seems there's no intention of resistance. The technology should be handed over soon."

The Holy Lord walked to the desk: "I heard that Ross is working with other generals to draft a plan to restrict S.H.I.E.L.D., which is expected to be submitted to the Security Council in three days."

"Three days?" Fury turned around and said coldly, "Three days is too slow."

Fury walked to the computer and typed a few keys, and a large amount of code appeared on the screen.

"Do you know why I'm putting you in control of the world's military weapons?"

The Holy Lord feigned ignorance: "Surveillance?"

"more than."

Fury pointed to the screen, where a red target box was locked over General Ross's private residence: "It's to let them know who's really in control."

Fritz paused, his voice flat: "Give them a warning. The two tactical missiles are targeting two of Ross's military depots in Texas. Avoid casualties, but let them know we can access their systems at any time."

The Holy Lord nodded slightly, his finger tracing a line in the air.

Without warning, piercing alarms sounded at a military missile base thousands of kilometers away, and two missiles were launched without any orders.

"System compromised! Missile activated autonomously!"

"Unable to cancel launch command!"

"My God, this is impossible!"

Two missiles, trailing plumes of flame, ascended into the sky and accurately struck two military warehouses that had been cleared out in advance.

There were no casualties, only thick smoke and loud explosions.

Thirty minutes later, General Ross's encrypted communication lines were almost completely destroyed.

"General! S.H.I.E.L.D. has infiltrated our systems!"

"How did they do that?! Our firewall is top-of-the-line!"

"Rose! This is already a declaration of war!"

Ross sat in the command center, his face ashen. In front of him, on a large screen, were satellite images of the destroyed warehouse.

"Frey".

Ross gritted his teeth and spat out the name: "You're fucking insane."

Meanwhile, in Tony's laboratory.

Jarvis's voice rang out in the room: "Sir, are you sure you want to do this?"

Tony stood in front of the workbench, holding an exquisite box in his hand. Inside the box was an energy core that emitted a pale blue light.

Tony chuckled self-deprecatingly. "Are you sure? I've never been that sure in my entire life."

Tony closed the box, turned to Jarvis, and instructed, "Reanalyze the data in Valon's blood. Once the analysis is complete, do not seek my opinion; apply it directly to the plan."

At S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, Fury's office door was opened.

Tony entered the office and handed the box to Fury.

"What's this?" Fury opened the box.

"The new energy technology you wanted, the complete version." Tony swaggered into Fury's chair. "This is enough to free S.H.I.E.L.D. from its dependence on military energy, and enough to shut those people on the Security Council up."

Fury raised an eyebrow, looking provocatively at Tony now sitting in his seat: "Why are you being so generous? I thought you'd only hand over your technical skills, but you've even given me the finished product."

Tony shrugged. "I suddenly feel like your recent behavior has been pretty right."

"About threats, about control." Tony's tone sounded sincere: "We almost lost when Loki invaded. If the portal hadn't mysteriously closed, who could guarantee we would have won?"

"The military is not only failing to act, but they also want to kill us," Tony continued. "Do you think I'd cooperate with them?"

The Holy Lord listened without interrupting. He knew very well that if it weren't for the Observer's intervention, if the Observer hadn't wanted to eliminate him, if it weren't for his existence as a variable, the war could have been resolved entirely on their own.

Fury was silent for a few seconds, then slowly nodded: "You've finally figured it out."

"yes."

Tony stood up: "However, I still need to go to Washington to deal with some issues left over from Stark Industries. We'll discuss the technology application plan in detail when I get back."

Tony turned and left, giving the Holy Lord an enigmatic look the instant he stepped out of the office.

Three hours later, in a secluded military safe house in Washington, D.C.

Tony sat at the conference table, opposite General Ross and three other high-ranking military officials.

Ross shoved a stack of documents in front of Tony: "Mr. Stark, are you sure you want to do this?"

Tony picked up the document, quickly glanced through it, and then signed his name.

"I'm sure Fury has gone mad. He thinks he's in control of everything, but he's actually just trapped in his own illusions."

Ross frowned: "Where's your evidence?"

Tony took a small device out of his pocket and placed it on the table.

"Coulson, I have a task for you to do..."

Fury's voice could be heard in the recording.

After the recording ended, Tony continued, "He is now using Wallon to control military satellites around the world. Your missile systems have long been under his control. Today's attack on your warehouse is just a warning."

Ross's expression darkened further: "How did you get this recording?"

"You have no right to know that." Tony didn't answer Ross's question; he didn't fully trust the military either.

"What do you want us to do?" another general asked.

Tony leaned back in his chair, a familiar, confident smile playing on his lips: "It's simple. You publicly accuse S.H.I.E.L.D. of overstepping their authority, forcing the Security Council to investigate, and leave the rest to me."

"Hero." A general uttered these two words without any warning.

Tony gave him a disdainful look: "You guys wanted to kill your hero before."

Fury stood in front of the wall, his finger tracing the photos of Steve and Natasha.

"How's Steve doing lately?" Fury asked.

The Holy Lord, standing behind him, replied, "Everything is normal; everything is proceeding according to your orders."

"Where is Natasha?"

"Again, everything is normal."

Fury nodded in satisfaction: "Keep an eye on them. If the military doesn't relinquish control in three hours, there's no need for them to do anything more than a title for the legitimate use of military equipment."

The Holy Lord remained silent; in his eyes, Fury's greed had reached its breaking point.

This place will soon become its own country.
