On a section of the southern highway, a bus was driving with its fog lights and high beams on, and its hazard lights flashing.
This was the vehicle Chadwick was in. Oliver was sitting in the driver's seat, focused on driving, while Chadwick sat on his right side near the front door, peering ahead and observing the road conditions around him.
For some reason, starting just now, the fog density around us increased dramatically. At this point, the fog was so thick that the bus had to slow down and turn on its high beams and hazard lights as it slowly made its way through the fog.
Unable to use navigation, Chadwick had to rely on electronic maps and manually compare roadside landmarks. However, due to the scarcity of landmarks along the southern highway of Misura Island and the extremely dense fog, the vehicle had to slow down to avoid overtaking the wrong road.
The driver, who had been tied up, was placed in the back seat of the vehicle with his mouth taped shut. He was being watched over by Pete and the others. At first, he struggled from time to time, but after being punched and kicked a few times, he became completely obedient.
This section of the road is not wide; it's a two-way four-lane road, meaning there are two lanes on each side. Although it's called two lanes, Oliver drives a bus, which is quite spacious. Since he had only driven private cars before and had never driven a vehicle this wide, he usually had to occupy one and a half lanes when driving.
Oliver frowned, staring intently at the road ahead. Through the thick fog, the vague outline of a vehicle could be seen. The vehicle was parked on the side of the road about fifty meters ahead, with its hazard lights flashing, blocking the road to the side. If it were a small vehicle, it could barely pass, but for a bus, it was tantamount to blocking the road ahead.
Upon seeing this, Oliver quickly slammed on the brakes, bringing the car to a slow stop. As his vehicle slowed down, he could now see the situation ahead.
It was an SUV with the trunk lid open, as if something had happened. Behind the vehicle, a person was standing there, waving his arms toward the road behind.
"Hey... is this guy calling for help?" Oliver muttered subconsciously. To be honest, he didn't want to pay attention to this person, after all, he and his companions were still trying to escape. However, with the road ahead blocked, he had to slow down, stop the car, and roll down the window to try and find out what was going on.
At that moment, Chadwick, who had also seen the situation, stood up, leaned back in his seat, and observed the situation ahead.
