Chapter 473 Bedbugs and Kind People
Chapter 473 Bedbugs and Kind People
"Are you begging my soft-hearted fiancée not to put your photo in the envelope?"
In the dimly lit basement, Maggie held a gleaming dagger and lifted Sirius's stubble-covered chin, revealing a cruel smile.
"You put it in again?" Sirius, who was tightly bound to the chair, faced Maggie, who could kill him at any moment, without any fear, only concern for Harry's feelings.
“No, I’m a kind person,” Maggie chuckled softly, “a kind person who respects his fiancée and can’t bear to see others’ efforts go to waste.”
Sirius frowned, completely disbelieving that Maggie would have any good intentions. He asked in a hoarse voice, "What did you do?"
"Why that expression? If you ask me, you should be thanking me," Maggie said slowly after patting Sirius's cheek with her cold blade. "I've given your photo to the person who cares about you the most."
"Cynthia! You're blackmailing her!?" Sirius exclaimed angrily. "Drag innocent people into this! Are you even a man?!"
“Being a Gryffindor man means nothing to me,” Maggie scoffed, unfazed. “If she really comes because she’s worried about you, ah, that’s interesting. We can do a lot to prisoners.”
“You should know this,” Maggie’s smile widened. “After all, you know all too well.”
"You disgusting bug!" Sirius roared. "Don't touch her!"
“Sigh, don’t flatter me like that,” Maggie sighed helplessly. “She has powerful backers. As long as she doesn’t want to, no one can touch her.”
"So you went and instigated her?"
Della's voice rang out from the doorway. She had just found Maggie's study empty and heard this as soon as she entered the interrogation room.
“Don’t think of me like that. I only sent her the photos and didn’t say anything else,” Maggie said, seamlessly conveying a wronged expression. “I just thought that even though Sheena is soft-hearted, the photos had already been taken, so they should be put to some use.”
"Didn't say anything else? You really know how to make others anxious." Della glanced at Maggie with disdain, took another picture of the silver letter and sent it to Sirius, replying with only three words.
Still alive
"Do you think she'll go back to England?" Maggie joked. "How about we make a bet?"
"I won't allow you, you worm, to mention her so casually!" Sirius twisted his body, making the chains clang.
“There’s no point in betting on this. You and I are betting on the same answer,” Della’s cold gaze gradually shifted to Sirius. “Paying for a Gryffindor’s reckless impulse is, in my opinion, a complete disaster.”
Sirius responded to Della's gaze, his face tense and silent.
“It really is the same one. I also think she’s too selfish,” Maggie sighed again. “It’s a pity. I secretly wish she could have been more impulsive. If only some of Sheena’s tender and sincere heart could have been given to her.”
“You really know how to talk.” Della looked at Maggie strangely, her sarcasm undisguised, thinking that his way of talking about his fiancée was disrespectful.
“Since you’ve praised me so much, let’s talk some more,” Maggie said, sheathing her dagger and starting to walk out. “You saw the news, right? Which one do you think it is?”
“None of them should be,” Della answered Maggie’s question, secretly pleased that the topic had been brought up. She had to admit, Maggie truly understood her best.
Sirius watched the two figures leave one after the other, his lips moved, he really wanted to ask them what news they had seen. He had a feeling it was related to Harry, but he also knew that neither of them would answer his question seriously, so in the end he didn't ask.
He should be able to get some information by the afternoon, when the kind Miss Perea comes over.
Sigh, how could such a kind person end up getting involved with bedbugs?
Even Sirius felt sorry for Sheena. He recalled several conversations with his executioner (who was also his doctor), Elsa, where the topic of debt was always mixed in with the conversation about Sheena.
If he can get out of here, then he should help Miss Perea pay off the money Maggie helped her repay, so that she can leave without any guilt.
Sirius Black, who possesses countless assets and can be described as a wealthy man, made this decision.
