Chapter 1: Escape from the Famine World and the Dursley House!
"If you dare walk out this door, don't ever come back! I don't have any adoption paperwork for you anyway!" Vernon Dursley put down the TV remote and shouted at the thin figure in the entryway.
After putting on his shoes in the entryway, Kanehis turned to look at Vernon Desley and Pene Desley, who was busy in the kitchen.
"In any case, Mr. and Mrs. Dursley, I am grateful for the lodging you have provided for me without asking for anything in return this past month. Please rest assured, I will not be coming back. When Harry and Dudley return, please say goodbye to them for me."
After Kane finished speaking, he pushed open the door and left the Dursleys' house, walking onto the sidewalk of Privet Drive.
The shadows cast on the street in the afternoon slowly formed a tall, elegant man that only Kane could see.
The man raised an eyebrow and said, "Kane, you don't look too good right now."
"If it weren't for you, Maxwell, I wouldn't be in such a bad state. Do you have anything to say?" Kane glanced at the man only he could see, the king from that famine-stricken world, the Eternal Realm...
"Of course," Maxwell said. "Let's find something to eat before dark."
"Thanks, I'll sneak around in the trash cans alone at night," Kane said quietly.
"What I mean is, you're only eleven years old. Can't you find a more dignified way to live?" Maxwell said quietly.
"If you want to convince me to accept the shadows of the Eternal Realm and be entangled by them, please keep your mouth shut. I barely escaped from there," Kane said coldly.
"Sigh." Maxwell sighed. "Kane, Kane, you are so naive. From the moment you stepped into the Eternal Realm, you were already being watched by them. Even if you escaped, it would still be the same. The reason you haven't seen them is because I've been holding them off for you. But now, I think it's time for you to take that step yourself."
Kane raised his eyelids and glanced at Maxwell: "So?"
"As I always say, find something to eat before dark." Maxwell finished speaking and then smiled as he pulled a padlock-shaped black shadow from the shadow at Kane's feet.
In an instant, Kane felt as if he had been reconnected to something terrifying. The black shadow that had been imprisoned burst out of his body and filled the shadow beneath his feet, before being quickly brought back under his control.
"It's time to embrace our true nature, Kane. Farewell." Then, with a bang, he vanished.
Kane turned around, looked at the shadow at his feet that was gradually becoming menacing, frowned, and clicked his tongue: "Behave yourself!"
The shadow shuddered and immediately became docile.
At dusk, Harry and Dudley entered the Dursleys' house. Dudley went straight to the kitchen and ransacked the refrigerator, eventually finding a bottle of ice-cold Coke, which he drank to his heart's content.
Harry carefully brushed the dust off his clothes, picked up the mop from his bedroom at the bottom of the stairs, and wiped away the footprints Dudley had left on the floor.
After doing all this, he carefully poured himself a glass of water, drank it as quietly as possible, and then began searching for a figure throughout the first floor.
Unfortunately, he ultimately failed to find it.
"Uncle, where is Kane?" Harry walked slowly up to Vernon Dursley, who was reading a newspaper, and asked softly but firmly.
"She ran away from home," Vernon said, flipping through the newspaper.
Harry frowned. "You kicked him out? Why?"
Vernon angrily crumpled the newspaper into a ball and threw it into the fireplace: "I didn't adopt you two so you could ask me all sorts of questions, and I didn't kick Kanehis out of the house; he left on his own."
Harry dropped his pretense of meekness: "So you just let him go? He had no money, he didn't eat dinner, and you didn't even go looking for him!"
"Anyway, we never adopted him." Vernon snorted and picked up the remote to watch TV.
Dudley came rushing over at that moment, and with the force of the locomotive, he knocked Harry aside, almost causing him to fall into the fireplace.
"Isn't it good that Kane is gone? My house isn't an orphanage." Dudley sat on his father's lap, the poor sofa bearing a terrible weight that hadn't been anticipated in its initial design.
Penny came down from upstairs and stood at the top of the stairs, saying, "Don't worry about him. Mrs. Figg said he's performing magic at Plum Blossom Cross Street not far away. He'll come back when he gets hungry."
Vernon sneered, "Hmph, you've been here for over a month and haven't even offered to perform magic for us. You really are a heartless bastard."
Upon hearing that Kane was at Plum Cross Road, Harry immediately went to the entrance to put on his shoes. Vernon, seeing this, felt his authority challenged: "If you dare go out today, don't come back!"
Harry, however, stood his ground: "I'm not like Kane. You are my guardians. If you don't come out to find me, the police will come for you!" With that, Harry decisively dashed out, leaving Vernon Dursley sitting on the sofa, raging helplessly.
Soon, Harry jogged to Plum Cross Street and saw Kane standing on the side of the street, surrounded by several girls.
At that moment, Kane stood on tiptoe and placed a black hat on the head of one of the girls. Then he lifted the hat, and the girl's originally loose hair was combed up by the force of the hat being lifted.
In the end, it magically transformed into a youthful and adorable hairpin.
The girl's friends were all amazed when they saw the hairpin. The girl herself took out a mirror and looked at her hairpin. Overjoyed, she hugged Kane and kissed him on the cheek. Then she took out ten pounds from her wallet and put it in Kane's hat.
"Thank you, elegant little magician." After saying this, the girl took two steps back and handed Kane over to his friend.
Just as the other person was happily squatting down in front of Kane, Kane saw Harry Potter standing not far away and immediately said apologetically, "Sorry, I think special magic can only be given to special people, right?"
"I think you only did magic tricks for Emily because you think she's prettier than us. But we've been waiting here for so long, you have to make it up to us," the girl squatting in front of him said resentfully, resting her chin on her hand.
Kane looked at Harry as he approached with a hint of helplessness: "Of course there will be compensation."
As Kane spoke, he extended one hand, the back of his hand facing the light source of a street lamp not far away, while the shadow in his palm slowly twisted.
With a swift movement, three jet-black roses appeared in Kane's hand. He gave one rose to each of the three girls, then without a word, put his hat on his head and left, heading towards the direction without streetlights.
"Hmm, cute little brother, why do I feel like he's avoiding us?" Emily said with a hint of helplessness, holding the black rose in her hand.
"No, he's hiding from me!" Harry's voice came from behind the three of them, and then he ran past them quickly.
